I get asked regularly, “What drugs are you on” or “Can I get some of what you got?” 🌞

I haven’t always been this blissful. I’ve been the opposite, and deathly sick in mind and body. I’ve had suicide attempts, I’ve had addictions, and I’ve had dependencies - and some were in the name of health. I developed autoimmune diseases from this place of innocent misunderstanding.

We aren’t being taught the proper way to work with strong medicines these days. We are not being taught from the plants themselves. This is a shamanic rite of passage, and many healers go through deep illness similarly.

With all of the expansion in entheogenic medicine work I’ve done, (16 years of study now), what has brought true and fully embodied healing never came from outside of myself. The medicines have been incredible catalysts to finding myself out of despair, and coming into contact with my vital life force when in chronic fatigue.

However, I’ve learned that as soon as we tap into our own vital life force: the healing comes from WITHIN. It comes from rawness without the medicine. It comes from ourselves navigating through the shit instead of trying to cruise control it.

It takes a commitment beyond to allow your medicine to be yourself. I moved through three autoimmune diseases in less than a year’s time this way - I followed protocol with vital foods and nurturing movement and re-arranging my environment and work, but something deep had been missing in my sick years before: IF I WAS SUPPLEMENTING WITH A STRONG MEDICINE TO UPLIFT MYSELF, I WASN’T FULLY HEALING.

People believe they need heavy duty medicine that uplifts when they are down. These medicines are great if you are at ground zero or falling faster than you can pick yourself up. However the sustainable healing for depression, low energy, fatigue is BEING WITH IT after the medicine.

The medicine is truly the symptoms themselves. The symptoms we want to uplift with supplementation.

When substances bring us into contact with our own vital life force, the ancient shamans knew to stop the substance and be with ourselves in our fullness. In all of ourselves. Feeling every emotion, feeling the weakness, feeling the pain, feeling the honor, the history, and the STRENGTH. That feeling is our medicine. Other subtle energies that help us move into that feeling are medicine. Ones that take us out of the feeling are not helping.

This seems to be understood on an intellectual level in circle: that we got to feel it to heal it. However, that means: BE NAKED IN YOUR APPROACH. It isn’t being put into practice. More substances are then being taken to feel it, even deeper this time. This isn’t it.

People are using strong medicines in a way that is no longer medicinal -> using them well past contact and conscious connection with their life force.

It doesn’t work this way.

After the divine ceremony, the medicine becomes your dieta - the nap, the clean food and water, the simple herbal tea, time alone, truly feeling in integration, the subtle body help - all without the medicine that brought you there. Without the ceremony. Without the stimulus.

It’s not more or different medicines. This goes for prescriptions, for cannabis, for tobaccos, for coffee, for Ayahuasca, for cacao. It’s the same across the board: it’s you! You’re the medicine. 🙏🏻

This is what leads to BLISS. Full bodied, internal and external bliss. Magnetism, abundance, health, and wellness.

We can surrender as many times as we give ourselves the opportunity, and the ‘wounded healer’ always has another opportunity. This cycle is part and parcel of the life path.

A key for a healer is deeply rooted patience in remembering that the wounding is as much a part of the life path as the healing. We all move in our own time. The presence of the wound is purposeful, and not to be shamed or forbidden. Yet, the wound is not to be fed either.

Healers often want to move beyond the wound too soon. There is an eager innocence to help and share what they have learned in their own process. A desire to be spiritual and a leader in the *right* way. This is highly valuable. It moves one to their next layer of surrender. A healer experiences little ego deaths all day long. This is not from a place of weakness.

Bringing this forward as personal 'wound healing' and into the spotlight of everyday experience is the integration of all our medicines. This is how we learn to trust the integrity of our own experience. This is how we learn to not feed the wound through roundabout shame or guilt.

This journey can be scary because most don’t understand that a healer becomes the healer they are destined to be when they are present in the moment with both their wounds and their healing: ready to serve with the toolset they trust from their own experience.

From here, we learn we don’t need to force cleansing, or force the way we interact with the world.

We get to a place where we don’t need to hide our inner ego experience anymore - we aren’t ashamed or attached to it as ours!

We let the human flag fly because we know that is what brings the authentic healing.

We don’t try to be more of anything than exactly what we are in that moment - even if some spiritual laws suggest enlightenment looks otherwise.

We get to a place of pure nourishment as fully accepting our response to duality without fear... which transforms into fully accepting all of our wounds in love, and sending love to those who we intimidate because of it, and especially to those who expect a healer to look a different way.
